What is Cel Painting?
Cel painting is a traditional animation technique where line art and colors are layered on transparent sheets to create a vivid image. Once used in Japanese animation production, this process offers a rare hands-on experience of classic animation craftsmanship. You will paint your own cel sheet and see the vibrant colors through the transparent sheet, creating a unique piece of art to take home from Tokyo.
